DLA Piper advised Amundi on the sale of nine Carrefour hypermarkets

DLA Piper has advised the french group Amundi on the sale of nine Carrefour hypermarkets, five in Spain and four in Italy. The Israeli real estate fund MDSR Investments has paid 180 million for these nine assets, which means this is the largest operation in the retail segment in 2022.

A few days ago, the same investor bought four Carrefour supermarkets in Barcelona from Barings for 27.9 million. Therefore, its current portfolio is divided between Spain and Italy. Eight of them, including the five in Spain, are operated by Carrefour; but the Italian one is leased to Coop. In Spain, they are distributed between San Sebastián de los Reyes, Alcalá de Henares, Santander, Ávila and Rincón de la Victoria.

The Israeli investment firm landed in Spain in 2015, in the commercial sector. Nowadays, it has several portfolios of supermarkets and shopping centres: Connecta Córdoba (Córdoba), Parque Comercial La Dehesa (Alcalá de Henares- Madrid), Mercado de Campanar (Valencia), Parque Comercial Puerta del Ave (Ciudad Real).
