PwC adds Tax director in Málaga from ME&R
PwC Tax & Legal has hired Joaquín López Avellaneda as a director in its Tax department, joining from Martínez-Echevarría & Rivera Abogados
Joaquín Rodríguez Avellaneda (pictured) is a lawyer specialising in Finance and Tax Law. He holds extensive experience in Contentious Taxation, Tax Inspections, Tax Consolidation, Corporate Taxation, Tax Planning, related-party transactions, Accounting Law, International Taxation, Customs Law, Family Businesses, Real Estate Taxation, Corporate Reorganisations and Acquisitions, as well as personal taxes related to these types of transactions.
He is a Law graduate from Universidad de Granada. After four years as a candidate for the public competition process for the Spanish IRS, he joined Garrigues as a Tax lawyer in 2004. After three years, he jumped to Cuatrecasas again as a Tax lawyer, where he spent more than ten years.
In September 2017 he was recruited by Martínez-Echevarría Abogados (now Martínez-Echevarría & Rivera Abogados) as a Tax lawyer, to become the head of the firm´s Tax department in July 2019, from where he now joins the Big Four as a Tax director in the firm´s Málaga office.
Joaquín has lectured on several Master’s degrees and on courses related to Tax Law. He is also a regular speaker at conferences held in collaboration with leading and Public Administrations and has published articles in specialised media on Tax Law matters.
