PUDO, an acronym for “Pick up, Drop off”, is part of the Swiss group Kern AG, and was founded in Spain in 2015. The company operates in the logistics area by providing technology-based solutions for the collection and delivery of parcels in smart lockers.

A spokesperson said: “With this acquisition of 25% of PUDO’s capital in Portugal, DPD Portugal reinforces its commitment to parcel delivery in lockers, developing its network of points for out-of-home deliveries, participating in the leadership of this sector within the Iberian market, and in Portugal.”

Olivier Establet, the ceo of DPD said: “The solution of lockers as alternative delivery points for e-commerce purchases is still at a very early stage of development in Portugal but has gained increasing and even exponential interest in recent months.”

Estabet later added: “PUDO was the first company to bet on this solution in Portugal and clearly have the largest national network, with several international and national brands as customers. With this commitment, DPD ensures access to the largest network of lockers in Portugal and thus leads this innovative movement in our country.”
