Gold Abogados recruits HSF duo

Gold Abogados has hired Manuel Contreras as Competition partner and reinforced its Corporate practice with the hire of Beatriz de Basterrechea as of counsel, both from Herbert Smith Freehills

Gold Abogados has hired Manuel Contreras (pictured left) from Herbert Smith Freehills as Competition partner. Manuel has a degree in Law with EU Law specialization from Universidad San Pablo CEU in Madrid and has been recently appointed a non-governmental advisor to the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC). Manuel advises regularly on the Competition aspects of Corporate deals and Commercial agreements, Antitrust investigations before the CNMC and the European Commission and proceedings before commercial and administrative courts.

In addition, Gold Abogados has hired Beatriz de Basterrechea (pictured right) as of counsel in its Corporate practice. Beatriz has a degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, has developed her entire career in Herbert Smith Freehills and has nine years of experience advising companies and Private Equity firms on structure, negotiation and implementation of M&A deals, Joint Ventures and Corporate Restructurings both at national and international level.

With these two new hires, Gold Abogados keeps growing its Corporate/M&A practice and continues to invest in Competition Law reinforcing its position as one of the leading boutiques in the Spanish Legal market.
