Latham & Watkins Spain managing partner Juan Picón dies

Latham & Watkins Madrid managing partner Juan Picón has died.

Picón had been managing partner of Latham & Watkins since 2017. He was previously senior partner and global co-chairman at DLA Piper, where he spent 11 years.

Prior to that he was managing partner at Squire Sanders & Dempsey in Madrid. He also worked as a lawyer at Clifford Chance and Banco Santander.

Picón had a reputation as one of the leading rainmakers in the Spanish market with an immensely loyal client following. An extremely charismatic individual, who was renowned for the way he looked after clients, Picón was rumoured to be one of the highest earning lawyers in Spain.
