Linklaters acts for The Carlyle Group on Cepsa deal

Linklaters advised The Carlyle Group on the acquisition of a stake in energy company Cepsa.

The Carlyle Group did not disclose the exact size of the stake, but it is understood to represent 30 to 40 per cent of the company.

The amount paid for the stake was based on a $12 billion valuation of Cepsa. The stake was acquired from the Mubadala Investment Company.

The Linklaters team included partners Alejandro Ortiz (pictured) and José Giménez, managing associate Elena Rodríguez and Belén Lavandera, counsel Alejandro Meca, junior associate Berta Teruel and lawyers Pilar Carnicero and Jaime Zurita.

Cepsa was advised by an Allen & Overy team led by partner Fernando Torrente.
