Freshfields and Ramón & Cajal advise on Qatar-Colonial deal

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer advised the Qatar Investment Authority on the sale of a 22 per cent stake in France’s Société Foncière Lyonnaise to Spanish real estate investment trust Colonial.

Colonial was advised by Ramón & Cajal. The company also instructed French law firm Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier.

The deal was valued at €718 million, according to Mergermarket.

Real estate company Société Foncière Lyonnaise reported rental income of €96.1 million in the first six months of 2018.

Colonial reported profits of €683 million in 2017.
