PwC incorporates Portuguese law firm CCR Legal

PwC has incorporated newly established Portuguese law firm CCR Legal into its legal network.

CCR Legal – which was founded in January of this year – has a team of 12 lawyers led by the firm’s sole partner Cristina Cabral Ribeiro.

Until the beginning of this year, Cabral Ribeiro was an associate at Garrigues in Lisbon. Her expertise includes acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and private equity investments. She advises clients in the banking, tourism, real estate development, pharmaceuticals, telecoms, energy and waste sectors.

A CCR Legal statement said the firm is an “independent law firm and a member of the group of legal services practices of PwC”. The statement added that the firm is “based in Lisbon and Oporto, providing services at a national level including in the Free Trade Zone of Madeira”.

The firm’s focus is on advising clients on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, real estate, labour law and tax litigation.

PwC is the latest member of the ‘Big Four’ to venture into the Portuguese legal market in recent times. Madrid-headquartered Deloitte Abogados has acquired a stake in the share capital of Portuguese firm CTSU, while RRP Abogados – a law firm founded by former Linklaters managing associate Ricardo Reigada Pereira – joined the EY global law network.
