Gómez-Acebo & Pombo acts for Foresight on Portuguese solar farm deal

Investment management company Foresight Group was advised by Gómez-Acebo & Pombo on the acquisition of Vale Matanças, a 7.2MW solar farm in Alcácer do Sal, Portugal.

The value of the transaction was confidential.

A Foresight Group statement said the deal was “the first investment in a utility scale solar asset in Portugal which does not benefit from government subsidy and is the first part of a larger unsubsidised solar portfolio acquisition plan Foresight is implementing across Portugal, Spain and Italy”.

The Gómez-Acebo & Pombo team advising on the deal included partners Mafalda Barreto and Luis Gil Bueno, senior associates Luísa Carrilho da Graça and Sofia Rodrigues Nunes, and associate Sara Sarmento.
