King & Wood Mallesons instructed on PPTV’s La Liga deal

King & Wood Mallesons advised online television company PPTV on the €250 million acquisition of the Chinese broadcasting rights for the Spanish Football League (La Liga).

 

The deal means PPTV will control the retransmission of La Liga for the next five seasons, from 2015/16 to 2019/2020.

The King & Wood Mallesons team working on the transaction was led by corporate partner Roberto Pomares.

Last year, King & Wood Mallesons advised Meriton Holdings – an investment company owned by Singaporean businessman Peter Lim – on the acquisition of a majority stake in the Spanish football club Valencia Club de Fútbol.
