Eight law firms to perform in Barcelona ‘Rock & Law’
Barcelona will host the ‘Rock & Law’ charity music event for the first time next week with eight law firms participating.
The proceeds from the event will go to Sant Joan de Déu Hospital’s Cuidam (“Look after me”) project. The concert will be held on Thursday 11 June at Sala Razzmatazz.
The performing bands are: The LawSuits, from Baker & McKenzie and Clifford Chance; Control de Cambios, from CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo; The Rocking Houses, from Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira; JC & The Dealbreakers, from Garrigues; Mind the GA&P, from Gómez Acebo & Pombo; Porfinviernes, from Roca Junyent; and Sujetos activos, from Uría Menéndez.
Rock & Law is promoted by Clifford Chance, the Cuatrecasas Foundation, the Fernando Pombo Foundation, the Garrigues Foundation and the Professor Uría Foundation.
Rock & Law began in 2009 in Lisbon when Portuguese law firms organised a benefit concert in which their own bands provided the music. Lisbon has hosted the event on five occasions. Madrid joined the initiative as host in 2010.
Barcelona’s Sant Joan de Déu Hospital started the Cuidam project in 2004 to help children whose lives depend largely on being able to access highly specialised medical and surgical treatment, and which they cannot receive in their countries of origin. In its 10-year history, Cuidam has attended over 200 children, mostly scoliosis or heart-disease patients.
Tickets are available online (standard ticket: €20, VIP ticket: €75). For those of you who cannot attend but wish to contribute to the Cuidam project, donations can be made. www.rockandlaw.org
A Rock & Law event will also take place in Lisbon on 2 July.
