Uría has three of top 10 M&A lawyers in Spain, new ranking shows
A new ranking of leading M&A lawyers in Spain includes three Uría Menéndez partners in the top ten.
The ranking – compiled by TTR (Transactional Track Record) and published in Expansión – placed Uría managing partner Luis de Carlos Bertrán as the number one M&A lawyer in Spain having advised on transactions totaling almost €15 billion in 2014.
Baker & McKenzie partner Enrique Carretero was ranked second having advised on deals totaling €12.5 billion, while Linklaters´ José Giménez was ranked third (€11.9 billion).
Uría´s Jaime de San Román (€10.9 billion) was placed fourth, Garrigues´ Luis Manuel Viñuales (€10.8 billion) was in fifth position, while Javier Fernández Cuenca of Pérez-Llorca (€10.6 billion) was ranked sixth.
Uría partner Víctor Viana (€9.9 billion) was in seventh position, DLA Piper´s Juan Picón (€9.1 billion) was eighth, Jaime Velázquez of Clifford Chance (€8.8 billion) was ranked ninth and Pérez-Llorca´s Julio Lujambio (€8.7 billion) was in tenth place.
An additional TTR ranking of M&A lawyers by number of deals placed U&Law´s Pablo Casado Bueno and Gonzalo María De Ulloa Lapetra in first and second place with 18 and 17 deals respectively.
Clifford Chance´s Javier Amantegui (13 deals) was placed third, Ignacio Gómez-Sancha of DLA Piper (12 deals) was ranked fourth, while Clifford Chance´s Carlos Portocarrero de las Heras (11 deals) was in fifth position.
