Mexican AM&L opens in Barcelona

Making its first international move, Mexican firm Arochi, Marroquín & Lindner (AM&L) has opened an office in Barcelona to serve as a bridge between Latin America and Europe.

Founded in 1994 in Mexico City, AM&L is one of the leading IP boutiques in Mexico, specialising in intellectual property (IP) law. For almost 20 years, the firm has handled the Mexican and Latin American IP interests of its US and European clients. Barcelona will serve as a local gateway for these clients as well as assisting Mexican companies with their IP interests in Spain.
Paola Tessarolo, an experienced IP lawyer formerly at Baker & McKenzie in Barcelona, joins as a Partner and heads the new eight-team office. Joining her as a Partner is Ana Padial, a trademark specialist, who previously headed the IP practice at Pintó Ruiz del Valle in Barcelona.
Many Barcelona law firms have handled the IP-piracy interests of their global clients with Latin American interests, but this is the first reported Latin American IP firm putting a foothold in Spain.
